ASWORK · ENTERPRISE AI DEVELOPMENT

Enterprise Knowledge Base and RAG Development

Give sales, service and internal teams one place to ask questions about approved documents, with product context, version controls and links to the source.

Development use case · Scope is defined against your business conditions.

Business need and fit

As a product portfolio grows, manuals, installation instructions and operating procedures can become scattered across shared folders and internal systems. Sales staff need specifications, service engineers need troubleshooting steps, and new employees need context. Finding a document also means checking whether it applies to the right product and release.

ASWORK develops enterprise knowledge applications using retrieval augmented generation, or RAG. The application retrieves relevant information from approved company material, then prepares an answer with source references. This approach suits organizations with maintained documentation, recurring questions and a need to separate access by product, department or project.

How a technical question is handled

Consider a service engineer asking which settings to check after replacing a sensor. The proposed workflow keeps the equipment context and supporting material attached to the answer.

  1. Confirm the product model, software release and operating situation, requesting missing details.
  2. Retrieve applicable manuals and records that the employee is authorized to access.
  3. Present the relevant settings and prerequisites with links to their original locations.
  4. Let the employee review the evidence; route missing or conflicting guidance to the knowledge owner.

Question feedback also gives document owners a way to identify recurring gaps in their material.

Development and integration scope

  • Document management: import agreed formats and record product, version, validity and ownership.
  • Retrieval and answers: search within business context and show references alongside responses.
  • Access controls: connect company accounts and apply department, role or project permissions.
  • Maintenance: track document updates, indexing status and feedback, including withdrawal of obsolete content.

The interface can run as a dedicated application or sit within an existing employee portal or support workspace. Hosting depends on data handling requirements, model services, connectivity and the customer's operating resources.

Project scope and handover

An initial scope can cover one product family and a representative set of questions. This establishes source quality, version handling and the response to unsupported questions before expansion. Deliverables can include the application, administration tools, integration interfaces, source code within the agreed scope, deployment instructions and evaluation records.

Evaluation checks whether answers are supported, citations refer to the right version, permissions hold and withdrawn documents stop appearing. A customer may also compare staff effort on equivalent tasks against its existing process. Any improvement claim needs that comparison and its conditions.

What to prepare

Provide frequently used manuals, representative questions with expected answers, document ownership and access rules. Explain how files are updated and where staff should use the assistant. Redacted samples can support the initial discussion before confidential material is transferred.

The project also needs a named knowledge owner. Data cleanup, historical document rewriting, third-party model charges and ongoing content operations should be scoped separately where applicable.

Frequently asked questions

Can mixed document formats be included?

They can be assessed using actual samples. Text PDFs, scanned files and complex tables require different handling. Extraction quality determines the supported formats and any manual preparation needed.

What happens when the documents do not support an answer?

The application should request more context, explain that the material is insufficient or route the question to a person. These behaviors are evaluated alongside routine answers.

Can the application run on company infrastructure?

Internal deployment can be assessed against model licensing, hardware and operational requirements. The location of document storage, retrieval and model inference must each be confirmed, including any external calls.
